She's OFF!!
Yesterday at 3:00 the doctors started weaning Esmé off of her oxygen. By 7:00 she was completely on her own with her saturation levels doing excellent. Praise to God for this progress!!! She is also off of IV. The blood culture came back negative but antibiotics are still being administered orally just as a precaution...I think she will be done them tomorrow. Esmé will still be in hospital for at least 4 days (likely longer when you're dealing with 'hospital time'). Before she can come home I will have to stay at the hospital (not as a patient) for 24 hours with her so that she can be monitored in my care. Please continue to pray-we covet your prayers!

That is great news - thanks for keeping us updated with the progress she Esme is making. I check so often to see if there has been an update. (I can't seem to get the e to work right in Esme's name yet).

That is wonderful news! We can thank & praise the Lord. I hope that Esme continues to grow healthy & strong and that your 24 hours of caring for you will go well too. And hopefully soon you will be able to bring her home!! That will be exciting for you. We will continue to pray for you guys. (I can't get the e to work on her name either)

PS. I am making you a meal on Monday for supper, I will call you that day for arranging a time to drop it off. :)

That's awesome news! :) Praise God for hearing and answering all our prayers!

Look at you - blogging away today! I can sense that you're in a good mood. I'm glad you're keeping your blog updated - I check it like 5 times every day to see how you guys are doing!

Very cute pictures of all your girls. Esme (I can't get the "e" accent either) looks wonderful without all the tubes in her nose. I hope that crayon mess wasn't too much work to clean up... hopefully Dan cleaned it up, since he's on paternity leave to help you out, right? :)

We are so thankful, praise the Lord. Hope you can take little Esme home soon...and get some clothes on that babe! I know the incubator is warm, but she looks so cold.

We were happy to hear that Esmé is improving and is able to do without extra oxygen. We continue to remember you all in our prayers. It is Providential that Dan decided to take paternity leave at this time so that he now is there when you need him Mel.
