Day 4 (Feb 6)
Esmé is making small improvements. Last evening she nursed for 3 mins which was very exciting. Generally she is too tired to nurse but the more she is fed through her tube the stronger she'll get and then she will have more desire/ability to nurse. We have an appointment with the cardiologist in London on the 16th so we will know more then. She is still on antibiotics as the results from the blood culture have not come in yet. Today when the midwife came, I got to listen to her heart. It sounds swishy instead of 'lub-dub'.

Hey guys,
I'm very happy to hear Esme is making improvements! What a blessing! And I'm glad to hear she nursed longer. I will continue to pray for all of you. And I pray you are getting enough rest too Mel:)
Love,
Danielle

awww honey....looks a bit like her Dad maybe? can't wait to hold/kiss her someday. Tiana doesn't understand why we keep praying for Esmé, she figures we prayed already so she's all better. Faith like a child....

She looks different than Mia and Ksena... her face looks longer and less round than theirs did. That's so exciting that you got to nurse her last night - hope she continues that pattern for you!

We're thinking of you too! I can't imagine not being able to bring the baby home right away, hope all continues to go well and she'll be able to go home! I have a neice and a cousin who were born with heart defects and remember how incredibly stressful/tiring it was for their parents going back and forth to the hospital plus caring for the older siblings. She is very cute!

So glad to hear that she is improving =0) I'm sure you can't wait to take her home and start living a normal life again, eh?
We will continue to pray for her and your family!

I had a midwife appointment today and saw Esme's name written on the "birth board". It made me smile and so I just thought I would share!
